About U.S. Sales Tax in FS.com Purchases

All items shipped to customers within U.S. are sold by FS United States (FS.COM Inc.)

FS is required by state law to collect sales tax that applies to your order. We display an "Estimated Sales Tax" to be collected at checkout when confirming an order. The amounts displayed as estimated tax may then be updated later when your order is finalized and completed. Shipping charges may also be subject to tax in certain states.

How Tax is calculated

Sales tax charged on your order varies, depends on the following:

The type of product purchased
The time and location of fulfillment
The shipment or delivery address of your order

Tax-Exempt Purchases

If your organization is exempt from sales tax, you can apply for or renew your tax exemption on your FS orders by submitting Tax Exemption Application online, and check status from your account center directly. Once approved, all subsequent purchases made to the documented exemption state(s) will be tax-free. Anything in help, please contact your account manager or calling +1 (888) 468 7419 for assistance.

FAQs

Can I receive a refund for tax charged on orders if I am tax exempt?: If your orders charged the sales tax but you have the valid Tax Exemption Certificate, you can contact your account manager to request a refund within 1 year from the date of purchase. The refund request must contain your Tax Exemption Certificate, and make sure the effective date of the certificate prior to the date of order placed. Once your order is fulfilled and your exemption has been validated, a refund for the applicable tax amount will be returned back to you.

Will the Sales Tax be refunded when my order requests for return?: We will refund back the sales tax fees to you for the return.

What are sales tax holidays?: At certain times of the year, some states offer a sales tax holiday which makes qualifying items exempt from sales tax during the holiday period. For example, a sales tax holiday may be enacted on "back to school" products before the new school year. FS will participate in tax-free sales events, and will honor tax exemption on qualifying items for the duration of the event. Visit your state's Department of Revenue website for more details.
